Policy adviser (accredited assistant) to MEP Heidi Hautala, Brussels

Are you a team player with previous experience in the field of human rights, sustainable development, international trade in the EU policy context? You might be exactly what we are looking for!

We are looking for a policy adviser to join MEP Heidi Hautala´s team in Brussels as of 15 May 2023 until the end of the term (30 June 2024). In this position you will assist MEP Hautala in the International Trade Committee in her role as the INTA-coordinator of the Greens/EFA group.

Job duties:

  • Assisting the MEP in the INTA committee and in her role as coordinator
  • Taking part in broader day-to-day green political strategizing
  • Engagement with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Drafting reports and background summaries 
  • Writing speeches and providing substance for communications
  • Other tasks related to MEP’s day to day work

We are looking for a person with:

  • Previous experience in the field of human rights, international trade and sustainable development in the EU policy context
  • Knowledge/understanding of EU decision making procedures
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field 
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Excellent teamwork capabilities 
  • Shares Green values

Working time: approximately 40h/week

Start: As soon as possible

Work extent: 15 May 2023 – 30 June 2024, until the end of the legislative term

Location: Brussels, with regular travel to Strasbourg
