On 6.10.2009 Chairwoman Hautala had a pleasure to meet Ms Ingrid Wetterqvist, Director at International IDEA on to discuss an IDEA project on the EU’s role in democracy building, which Ms Wetterqvist is directing. Of mutual interest were available opportunities to cooperate in this field and it was decided to look into these options more in depth.

Later on the same day Director Wetterqwist presented the project with IDEA Secretary-General Vidar Helgesen to the DEVE Committee of the European Parliament, where Chairwoman Hautala also took part.
