Ms. Hautala met Mr Trevor Stevens, Executive Secretary of European Committee for the Prevention of Torture Council of Europe (CPT) on 16.9.2009 to discuss the work of the CPT and possibilities for the CPT and the Subcommittee on Human Rights to support each others´ work. Close cooperation on prevention of torture was agreed to be of great benefit to both institutions and as a first step in this line Ms Hautala invited Mr Mauro Palma, President of the CPT to attend a DROI meeting and address the members.
