Ambassador discussed human rights issues in Sri Lanka with Chairwoman Hautala in detail and expressed hopes for constructive cooperation with the international community. Chairwoman Hautala expressed great concern over the humanitarian situation in the country and of the conditions in the camps where most of the captured are still being held. His Excellency agreed to attend the European Parliament Subcommittee on Human Rights hearing on the human rights situation in Sri Lanka on 1.10 and expressed hopes for good cooperation with the Subcommittee.
