Ambassador of Moldova

Chairwoman Hautala met on 18th March Ms. Daniela Cujba, Ambassador and Head of Moldovan Mission to the EU to discuss human rights in Moldova. [:]

Ambassador Cujba informed Chairwoman Hautala that cooperation in the field of human rights between Moldova and the European Union is developing and that she expects further integration and advancement in the areas of democracy and rule of law in due course. She also underlined that her delegation hopes for close cooperation with the European Parliament Subcommittee on Human Rights and stressed that they remain open to have discuss all issues the members would wish to raise. Chairwoman Hautala welcomed this and noted that the European neighbourhood policy and human rights dialogues of the EU offer excellent platforms for this. Chairwoman stated that she remains concerned over the issues of torture in detention, impunity for these grave human rights violations and the situation of sexual minorities in Moldova. Ambassador assured these problems are being addressed and offered to keep the office of the Chairwoman updated on these efforts and their outcomes.
